Life is full of change — some planned, others unexpected. Times of loss, transition, or uncertainty can place real strain on our emotions and sense of stability. Whether you’re coping with bereavement, navigating a change in direction, or simply need someone to listen, I offer a calm and supportive space to explore what you’re experiencing.
My name is Collette O’Mahony and I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I draw on Humanistic (Person-Centred), Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches. This pluralistic style means therapy is tailored to your unique needs and goals:
The Humanistic approach places your perspective at the heart of our work, helping you reconnect with your inner capacity for healing and growth.
The Psychodynamic approach explores how past experiences shape current patterns, allowing greater understanding and self-compassion.
CBT provides practical tools to shift unhelpful thought and behaviour cycles, supporting lasting emotional change.
I also volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support (UK), offering guidance to those adjusting to loss. Grief is a deeply personal process that cannot be hurried; therapy can provide the steady thread that helps you find clarity and meaning as you move through it.
Alongside bereavement support, I specialise in helping people who find themselves at a crossroads in life — facing endings, beginnings, and everything in between. Together, we can work to untangle the emotions and patterns that hold you back, and help you move forward with greater confidence and self-understanding.
I offer online, one to one sessions on zoom. Appointments are made to suit both parties and differing time zones. I welcome all inquiries, and an initial consultation of 15 minutes is free.

Therapy is a safe place to document and explore our findings, to discover how the threads of our past has woven the fabric of our present experiences, and how to spool a new thread and weave a better future. ― Collette O’Mahony, A Compass for Change.
“The secret of real success is to accept who you are, believe in it and stop trying to model yourself on someone else or what you think is expected of you. Aim to shape your life in as many ways that are possible to provide conditions that enhance your true nature and values.” ― Collette O’Mahony, In Quest of Love: A Guide to Inner Harmony and Wellbeing in Relationships
